Children work in pairs eg interviews for reading interviewer asks about book and other child asnwers questions paired reading, maths gamespaired writing 2 collaborate to write a story (5 mins) other 2 pick up story and write on. another 2 could be editors
Group 2
Have a timetable with children's names - expert, teacher and learner - use a peg system Include in maths and reading tumbles Rotate children who have finished their work. Rotate children who have unfinished ICT work Bus Stop activity - children rotate so each group gets an opportunity to type ideas on computer. Mathletics/Basic Facts - 5 minutes (have a timer).
Group 3 Make use of another classes computers or projectors. Visually learners - so explain verbally as well as seeing it visually through a projector. Use class/seniors blogs to celebrate learning. Daily mail - on wiki
Group 4: Speed maths test - 2 minutes on Group and Pair work. Pair tutoring Use the class experts Use during inquiry learning - one research one record Use during SSR, maths, reading times. Use with ESOL students
This blog was set up to share some answers and possible solutions to the hot issue of how to effectively use and manage one computer in the classroom.
The ideas and solutions are a result of a brain storming session at a recent cluster share meeting where other hot issues were discussed.
